In January, I decided to focus on memorizing twenty-four verses this year. Scripture memorization doesn’t come easily to me. However, I’ve experienced the power of having some key Scriptures committed to memory so they are right there when needed. And as I have built up my memory verse bank, I’ve benefited more and more as God’s truth and grace rolls easily off my tongue in the moment of need.
By starting off with just two verses per month, I have been able to make significant progress without feeling overwhelmed. I know several readers are participating along with me (even though they are shy about participating in the comments).
Free Chalkboard Style Printables
I love sharing my memory verse printables with you so you can make your own spiral. Of course, you don’t have to use the same verses I am using, but if you want them, I’ll be happy to email you a PDF with all 18 verses I’ve been working on this year. Just click here to request the free PDF.
You can print these out, cut them into 3 x 5 cards and:
- post in visible spots in your house or car
- put them in a 3 x 5 index card spiral
- slide into a photo album to make a memory verse notebook
- put some in frames (magnet refrigerator frames work great)
Really, you can use these in whatever way works best for you to keep God’s Word in front of you.
Scripture Memory Team
The plan has been to post a new verse on the Monday on or after the 1st and 15th of each month. I doubled up and did Proverbs 3:5-6 as SMTV (Scripture Memory Team Verse) #16 and 17 back on Monday, August 24. But then I forgot to post the link for Verse 18 back on Monday, September 21. So, today I’m getting us all caught up.
Here are the graphics I made for all of these verses:
SMTV #16 Proverbs 3:5
SMTV #17 Proverbs 3:6
SMTV #18 2 Corinthians 10:5
